Massive retail chains purchase inventory in immense quantities, allowing them to negotiate substantial discounts from suppliers and pass those savings onto consumers through lower prices. In contrast, mom-and-pop shops operate on tight profit margins and simply cannot survive a prolonged price war. Furthermore, modern supermarkets provide an unparalleled level of convenience. Under one roof, consumers can purchase groceries, clothing, electronics, and household items, while also enjoying amenities like free spacious parking. In today’s fast-paced world, this one-stop shopping experience naturally draws foot traffic away from traditional high-street stores.
